Leading the energy transformation in Türkiye, Enerjisa Distribution Companies, i.e., Başkent EDAŞ, Ayedaş and Toroslar EDAŞ, expand their drone fleet to supply high-quality, uninterrupted, and sustainable energy. Enerjisa Distribution Companies, which carry out their operations over a large operation area with over 140 drones and almost 400 drone operators, increased the level of quality and achieved service continuity by shortening power failure times even at highly challenging terrains. Operating in 14 cities, the distribution companies keep an eye on the power transmission lines 24/7 thanks to the drone technology they use actively in the forest areas within their fields of responsibility.
Implementing sustainable projects in line with the vision of ‘A Better Future for Everyone’, Enerjisa Distribution Companies, i.e., Başkent EDAŞ, Ayedaş and Toroslar EDAŞ, expand the utilization of drone technology they have commissioned as part of digital transformation activities and investments.
Performing various tasks such as troubleshooting, overhead line analyses, viewing broken equipment, and identifying illegal utilization of electricity, the distribution companies are able to respond more quickly to power outages by utilizing drone technology at critical locations such as mountainous areas, remote rural areas, forest areas, and disaster regions. Thanks to the drone technology, operational efficiency in operation and maintenance processes of electricity distribution grid increases at a high rate while significant improvements are achieved in occupational health and safety, as well as environmental sustainability.
Watching forest areas using the drone fleet
As of 2025, a total of 141 drone are being actively used in the operational fields of Başkent EDAŞ, AYEDAŞ, and Toroslar EDAŞ while 393 field workers have been authorized in drone operation and received their UAV-1 certificates. On the other hand, Enerjisa Distribution Companies sustain their efforts to expand their drone fleet and to increase the number of personnel certified with the UAV-1 certification.
Serving more than 22 million users in 14 cities, Enerjisa Distribution Companies, i.e., Başkent EDAŞ, Ayedaş, and Toroslar EDAŞ, has been strengthening early fire detection measures as well watching forested lands using the drone technology. The companies, which are able to watch energy transmission lines located in the forested lands within their responsibility areas 24/7, take the forests under protection thanks to remote viewing and analysis technologies.
