Başkent EDAŞ moved the grid line that supplies energy to the Ulutan Dam that supplies drinking water to Zonguldak and its districts, underground.
Başkent Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (Başkent EDAŞ) was aiming to prevent power failures due to tree toppling, particularly during harsh winter times, over the existing overhead grid, which energizes the Ulutan Dam that supplies drinking water to Zonguldak and its districts.
With the project that supplies energy to the Ulutan Dam from underground, Başkent EDAŞ had the goal to replace the existing overhead grid with the underground grid, while also increasing the capacity of the grid. Başkent EDAŞ allocated a budget of TL 1.2 million for the project. 5.4 kilometer-long cable was laid and one monoblock kiosk was used in the project.
Aiming to minimize the number and duration of power failures at the Ulutan Dam, which fulfills the water requirement of approximately 200,000 people in Zonguldak, the company has the goal to prevent power failures by replacing the grids.
